Contadi Castaldi isn’t just making Franciacorta—it’s reimagining it. Born from the bold vision of Vittorio Moretti in the late ’80s, this winery took over a once-abandoned brick factory (where his wife Mariella used to play as a kid!) and turned it into a sparkling wine playground. Located in Adro, at the beating heart of Franciacorta, it’s a place where ancient history meets pop spirit. The name? A throwback to medieval days, when the contadi were fertile lands and the castaldi ruled them.

Contadi Castaldi draws from over 170 hectares of vineyards, working with growers who know their plots like the backs of their sun-warmed hands. Their superpower? The art of the blend. Like an orchestra tuning up for something epic, they harmonize terroirs and vintages into cuvées that pop with personality. Satèn, their silky 100% Chardonnay sparkler, set the gold standard—and they didn’t just make it first, they shared the name with the whole appellation. That’s not just generosity—it’s legacy.

Tasting
yellow in color with greenish reflections, enlivened by a fine and persistent perlage.
The nose is fresh, with floral notes of lime, shade of citrus, white peach and green pepper. The mouth is tight and crisp, fresh and vertical, full-bodied, refined and with a lingering very enjoyable finish.
