Catherine is originally from Northern California and graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where she completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science with a Wine Marketing Certificate. Catherine‘s career started at the Wine Institute in San Francisco which led to selling wines for premium French, Italian and Australian importers in San Francisco and Los Angeles.  ⁠

While in sales she completed her Certified Sommelier Certificate through the Court of master’s and Diploma degree with the WSET. After a decade in sales, Catherine started with Vinfolio, an online fine wine retailer with a specialty in the secondary market of wine. She finished her time there as the director of the private client group and in 2014,  started her own consulting business managing investment-grade wine collections. ⁠With Ethica Wines since 2022.
