Founded in 1878 by Emanuele Alberto, Count of Mirafiore and son of Italy’s first king, Casa E. di Mirafiore is one of the original names that shaped Barolo’s destiny. Located in Serralunga d’Alba, in the heart of the Langhe, the winery quickly gained prestige for its structured, age-worthy Nebbiolo wines and was among the first to bottle Barolo under its own label. But after decades of prominence, Mirafiore vanished from the wine world—only to be resurrected in 2008 by entrepreneur Oscar Farinetti, founder of Eataly.

Today, the estate is once again a beacon of classicism, embracing certified organic farming, long macerations, and aging in large Slavonian oak casks. Everything is done with deep respect for the land and tradition. The vineyards sit in some of Barolo’s most prized crus—Lazzarito, Paiagallo, and Cerequio—known for their complexity and longevity.

Mirafiore’s Barolo DOCG is its signature expression: austere yet generous, with aromas of rose petals, dried herbs, tar, and spice. On the palate, it’s full-bodied with gripping tannins and a long, earthy finish—built for cellaring but accessible after decanting. Alongside Barolo, the estate also produces elegant Barbera and Dolcetto, all reflecting the estate’s historic elegance.

More than a wine label, Mirafiore is a resurrection of Piedmont’s noble past. It bridges the old world and the new, producing wines that are both timeless and full of soul.
