In the rolling hills of Montalcino, Casanova di Neri has carved its name as one of the most influential estates in the world of Brunello. Founded in 1971 by Giovanni Neri, a grain merchant from Montevarchi, the winery was born from his bold vision: to produce exceptional wines that reflect the character and complexity of Montalcino’s varied terroir. What began as a small project quickly gained momentum as Giovanni recognized the potential of Sangiovese when handled with intention and site-specific care.
When Giacomo Neri took the reins in 1991, he pushed the winery into a new era of precision and quality. Under his guidance, Casanova di Neri grew into a reference point for collectors, critics, and Brunello lovers worldwide. Giacomo introduced cutting-edge winemaking techniques and a focus on micro-vinification, treating each vineyard block as a unique expression.
Today, the estate includes over 60 hectares of vines, including legendary sites like Cerretalto—a walled vineyard on a bend in the Asso river with rocky, mineral-rich soils—and Tenuta Nuova, a newer planting that’s already earned icon status.
The wines? Pure Sangiovese, meticulously crafted. Powerful yet elegant. Age-worthy but generous. Casanova di Neri represents the bold future of Brunello—rooted in tradition, driven by vision.
